If you work in or actively support the not-for profit sector, then you are probably familiar with #GivingTuesday. A great counter-balance to the consumer-oriented messages of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday reminds us to be thankful for all we have already, and to consider the ways we can give back.
While opportunities for fundraising abound, we’d like to encourage you to engage your community in a shared effort that will help them feel connected to their giving, help your organization save money, and help us take better care of our planet!
At Sunvestment Energy Group, we help non-profits save money with solar by putting together the financing that supports the upfront investment in these projects. In order to maximize the savings to you, we work with you to engage your community in this investment, helping them to make an impact on your mission month after month thanks to reduced energy expenses.
In addition to whatever campaigns you have planned this year for #GivingTuesday, we invite you to find your internal Solar Champion who can work with us to lead the charge. Your Solar Champion is a passionate advocate for sustainability within your organization. That person does not have to be an employee, but they will most likely volunteer often and show they care by attending functions and supporting your organization through their involvement.
Having a Solar Champion is the first step on the path toward making your organization more sustainable by reducing the cost of your electric bill, while simultaneously giving something back to your donors – an opportunity to participate in an investment that will reduce what your organization pays for electricity.
This #GivingTuesday, we challenge you to find your Solar Champion who can lead your efforts to participate in the solar movement. At Sunvestment Energy Group we stand ready to work with you and your solar champion to make this innovative and engaging campaign a great success and community builder for your organization.
